A conference for Women and Wellbeing is taking place on Thursday 10th November 2016 in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon. The conference is being organised by Roscommon Women’s Network in association with the Western Region Drug and Alcohol Task Force. The theme of the conference is around general issues effecting women lives today, with a particular focus on the effect that substance misuse has on health and wellbeing. The conference will include a dynamic mix of speakers and presentations. These will include talks, reflections, poetry and drama and will be followed by a panel discussion with the audience. Fair play to all the hardworking volunteers and trainees in the RWN Training centre, nearly 100 bags for recycling sorted out, which will raise much need funds for the RWN centre. Shop is looking great, well done all!
This years RWN Fun Run takes place on Sunday 2nd August as part of the Castlerea Rose Festival. Entry is just €10, registration takes place from12 noon and the Run/Walk starts at 1pm taking in the beautiful surrounds of the demesne in Castlerea. Theres a 10Km & a 5Km with prizes for the first woman and man to cross both distances.
